Areas of Hair LossThe area of hair loss (bald or thin area), combined with the method of attachment, the head circumference, and the CAST determine the size and contour of the Matrix. This data ensures the perfect fit. Base ConstructionIn the world of hair replacement systems, there are three major manufacturers, in Manila, China, and Korea. HDE works directly with all three to enable our customers to receive the lowest prices of Base construction available. No matter what fancy name some U.S. hair companies give their Base or hair system, HDE can provide the very same for you for considerably less money. Look now at the five most popular Bases used today. The Base/Density/Front Hairline Option Guide will help you design the most natural hair system possible. Base Construction Options:See-thru Hair The Density Guide also contains our Base Material and Edge Guide, making it easy to communicate base front edge/scallops and edging. After examining the Base Material Guide, simply choose your Base Material, the Front Option, and the Edging Type and Width desired. Check the appropriate boxes on the order form. With the Base Material Guide that comes in the Hair Direct Custom Fitting Kit, you can easily design your own Full-fashion Custom Base design. Edging Width:1/4" Edging:No. 1 Scallop Frontal Design:A Frontal Design Guide:The Hair Direct Express Frontal Design Guide enables you to choose the amount of recession you prefer for your hair system. Unlock the ring and remove the three choices (A, B, and C) of recession. The one you select will represent the front area of your hair system. Now, place each one on the front area of your head, three fingers above your eyebrows. Select the one you life. Write it down on the Custom Order Form. Contour Analysis Systems TechnologyAnother technological breakthrough by Hair Direct Express!The HDE patented CAST system is by far the easiest, most precise method to determine size, shape and contour of your head for a perfect fit. The CAST system takes only ten minutes to complete, and you will then have a precision hard mold of your head, taken in your own home. This CAST system is an HDE exclusive. We are confident that our CAST system will make a precise impression. Do not take a chance on old-fashioned tape or plaster methods. Make the best impression! CAST Directions:1. Establish your front hairline. The front hairline is the very first edge of the hair system (base), not the hair length. There are two ways to determine where the very front edge should be: A. Wrinkle your forehead by raising your eyebrows. One thumbprint above the top wrinkle is your natural starting point where hair once grew. B. The front hairline can also be determined by placing your four fingers above your eyebrows. Put your four fingers together. Starting with the little finger on your eyebrow, lay your four fingers on the forehead. Where your top finger ends is a natural location where the very front edge of the hair system should be. Once you have located the front hairline location, mark a dot with the included marking pen. When the dot is on your skin, check to be sure that the dot is not lower than your four fingers. 2. Next, use the frontal guide. Place the very front center edge of the guide on the dot you made. Using the marker, trace the shape you want the front of the hair system to be. Another method for determining the front shape is to lay a piece of front contour tape on the dot, center it; then trace the outer edge all the way around the tape. You will not only have the frontal shape but an exact tape shape to use. We can supply this front tape. You will find several shapes of front tape in your Fitting Kit should you choose this type of frontal design. Now, using the marking pen, follow your hairline and mark a line around your entire balding area. This will be the size of the base of your hair system. Note: When choosing the See-Thru Base, the edge of your marking line should not overlap into your healthy hair but should come up just to your good hair. In other words, the See-Thru Base is only to cover the bald spot. This is because the See-Thru Base is taped or glued to the skin and because this base reflects your scalp through the base when your hair separates. You want a clean scalp under all areas of the base. When using other than the See-Thru Base or attachment, you want to overlap your healthy hair all around by one-half inch, An example would be when you are using comb clips or bonding for an attachment method. 3. After you have all markings on your head, you are ready to do the CAST. A. Open the foil pack that contains the CAST material. Remove the CAST material and place it under cool running water, wetting the entire surface. Work briskly because the CAST starts to harden once removed from the foil. After running water over the entire CAST surface, roll it tightly and wring out as much excess water as possible. Next, wrap the rolled-up CAST in a towel and press to remove more water/moisture from the CAST material. B. You are now ready to place the CAST on your head. (Once you have placed it on your head, do not reposition it or the markings you made will come off in the wrong location.) Now, place the CAST on your head with length front to back and the front of the CAST just above your eyebrows. Once the cast is in place, push down, and with your fingertips make a continuous, smoothing motion from the top down and all over. Repeat this motion for ten minutes. You will feel the CAST getting warm; this means it is starting to harden. C. After ten minutes, remove the CAST and check your lines to make sure they transferred from your head to your CAST. If necessary, darken the lines. If the line has widened, your original line will be in the center of the widened area. Now, with your pen, mark "F" on the front and "B" on the very back of the CAST. Your CAST and all other order specs are maintained in your file; therefore, all reorders take only a phone call from you. Your hair will arrive at your door, cut, styled and ready to wear in six to eight weeks. Choosing DensityYou will find the HDE Density Guide in your Custom Fitting Kit.  By examining this guide's examples of various densities of hair tied to the base material, you can see exactly what you will get. Compare these densities to your growing hair and you will know what to choose. 
You may request a density that is between two shown densities or choose different densities for various areas of the hair system. For example, you might choose a light density in the front, medium-light on the top/crown, medium in the back and very light on the temples and sides. Be as creative as you wish. CMT Fitting GuideUsing CMT to Ensure Accurate Fitting Cloth Tape MeasureLocate the cloth tape measure provided in your Fitting Kit. You will use it to take the following measurements. If you currently wear a hair system and can remove it, measure its length and width. Turn your hair system base up to measure both length and width. Then measure each side and the back of your head, starting at the point where your bald area or thin hair meets your growing hair. This is the "horseshoe" area. We want to know how many inches are between this point and the end of your growing hair. If you wear your hair cut to your ears, this measurement will come down from the end of the bald spot to the inside of your ear. The back measurement starts at the end of your bald spot and goes down to the wrinkle in the back of your head, the occipital bone, when you bend your neck backwards. Now, place the tape measure at the front of your head where the front edge of the hair system base will be. Measure down toward your nose. Tell us how long you would like the front of your hair system to be should the hair be brushed straight forward. Head CircumferenceUsing the Head Circumference Measuring Guide (HCMG)Your head circumference is important in the design of your hair system. You measure your circumference by using the Velcro strip in your Fitting Kit. Place the strip in the middle of your forehead and continue to wrap it straight around your head until the tape meets. Lock the Velcro. Once the strip is locked, gently slide it up and off your head. Place the locked strip into the Custom Fitting Kit for shipment to Hair Direct Express. Remember, as you place your measurements into the Custom Fitting Kit, you are designing your hair system. When you have finished your measurements and are ready to order, simply pick up the phone, dial our 800 number. Send the Custom Fitting Kit to HDE by dropping it into a priority mailbox. The postage is already paid. When we receive your Fitting Kit, we will study every spec then call you to go over your order before we construct your system.
